“I came so that they could have life—indeed, so that they could live life to the fullest.” John 10:10 CEB.
While Dallas Willard was teaching at a pastors’ conference, one pastor asked him “what was the human issue, irrespective of church life or religion, that Jesus came to address.” Willard remembers thinking “this is the question facing the Christian church today.” His answer was this: “Jesus came to respond to the universal human need to know how to live well. He came to show us how, through reliance on him, we can best live in the universe as it really is. That is why he said, ‘I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly’ (Jn 10: 10). His supremacy lies in the greatness of the life he gives to us.” [1]
At the Kenneth Acha Foundation, we say amen to Willard’s response. Jesus came to show us how to live life to the fullest so that we too can show others how to do the same.
Our mission is simple and comes from John 10:10.
As we obey God buy pursuing our mission and he accomplishes his work through us, we would get to know Christ by experience. God is life. Knowing God is eternal life, which starts today. It is at the core of living life to the fullest.
