Summary
We are a high-impact faith-based nonprofit that 1) empowers people globally to live life to the fullest, 2) develops leaders globally, and 3) cares for orphans and vulnerable children in Cameroon, Africa.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated program coordinator who will provide the leadership that we envision will take our ministry to the next level.
As program coordinator, you will be the chief salesperson for the organization. You will develop its programs and sell them to all stakeholders (staff, volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries).
You will be responsible for the delivery and overall success of each program. You will supervise managers and inform senior management on progress and performance.
A successful Program coordinator must have a broad knowledge of program management principles. They must have a strategic mindset as well as be able to lead and develop their subordinates. They must be able to sell the organization, fundraise, and manage donor relations.
The goal is to ensure every program will be delivered successfully and add the highest possible value to the organization.
This position will report to our president and CEO and requires a successful track record in leadership and raising partners and funds for a nonprofit or ministry.

Starting as a Full-Time paid position on a gradient pay scale with quarterly reviews
Work from either Austin, Texas or Palm Springs, California.
Responsibilities
- Strong ability to set goals and metrics for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization and effectively execute on and manage goals within specific deadlines
- Fundraising and managing donor relationships. May write grant proposals and manage large-scale donations
- A tested and proven approach to building key relationships with partners in a way that strengthens the non-profit’s brand and generates opportunities for raising funds. Experience with major donors and major gift giving campaigns is a plus.
- Solid and widespread network from which to build relationships
- Build relationships with corporate and community leaders both locally and worldwide
- Strong ability to articulate the “stories” of a nonprofit or ministry
- Develops and implements a non-profit organization’s programs
- Assesses needs and ensures that program objectives are met
- Plan the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones, and processes
- Personal commitment to the Christian faith, inspiring and empowering others, and to the mission of Shaping Destiny.
- Develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure
- Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
- Supervise all program and project managers involved to provide feedback and resolve complex problems
- Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
- Apply change, risk and resource management principles when needed
- Read reports prepared by managers to determine progress and issues
- Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies
- Keep senior management informed with detailed and accurate reports or presentations
- Internal and external communication
- Coaching and managing teams
- Must be driven, have self-initiative, and be comfortable working solo for the most part
Requirements
- Proven experience as program coordinator or other similar managerial position
- Proven experience in fundraising and managing donor relationships.
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
- Proven experience and proficiency selling something that you are passionate about.
- Excellent knowledge of performance management
- Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting and budgeting
- Working knowledge of MS office and program management software (e.g. Basecamp, MS Project etc.)
- A business acumen with a strategic ability
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- An analytical and growth mindset with great problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- A bachelor’s degree/diploma in management or a relevant field; A master’s degree is a plus
