First: What God did in 2011
As a family, God blessed Shaping Destiny in mighty ways in 2011.
1) He completed a $150,000 orphanage for the children. That building is a testimony of the faith of the Shaping Destiny family in God. You gave money and the children went to the site and helped out with the work. God took the glory!
2) Also God used us to serve close to 500 NEW orphans in 2011! That is 500 precious children!

WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2012
2012 Theme: Faith that Marvels God.
From now on, each year I will be choosing a theme for our SD family to focus on for the entire year. I learned this concept from Pastor Rick Warren. Our SD theme for this year is “Faith that Marvels God.” My prayer is for us to move from where we are in our faith to a place where our faith marvels God. This theme comes from Luke 7:2-9. I will explain in details in the future how this applies both to the children, staff, and sponsors of SD. More on this through future podcasts.
2012 Goals
In the next weeks, we will be sharing with you our 2012 vision. We have shared our 40 year vision. But now, we break down that vision into 5 year vision goals and then subdivide that into yearly vision goals. This year’s vision goals are HUGE! We will be sending it out soon.
Podcast
I have one more passion to confess–podcasting. I recently got some equipment for a personal website that I’m developing so that I can do podcasts and video blogging and share my personal growth, failures and successes in the hopes that God will use that to bless some who listen. God has rescued me so many times that someone might save themselves the pain if they can learn from my mistakes. Even though this is a personal passion, I discovered that it has huge applicability to our SD family. When Ellen and I save up enough money, I plan to buy some more equipment that will allow me to interview people from anywhere in the world on the podcast shows! That means the children, the staff in Cameroon, you sponsors can be interviewed on our podcast shows to help encourage others and spread what God is doing! I’m sure you would love the testimonies that will come out. Anyone would be able to subscribe and have the shows sent to them. More on that through the podcasts coming soon.
