THANK YOU!
This September, we were able to help 500 new children! I want to thank you for your prayers and gifts.
This huge increase was motivated by our new forty year vision–which is, to believe God to serve 2 Million orphans spread out over a 40 year period and in 100 countries. We thought if we have a gigantic vision, we need to start aiming for bigger things. So we tried 500 new orphans instead of the 50 or so we had planned. **[If you are anything like me, this vision might initially scare you. But I encourage you to watch a video I will soon send explaining the strategy and you will be able to breathe better when you hear some amazing testimonies already happening in Cameroon.]
I am very excited that God was able to use us. To inform you more about our vision, I will be putting a video on YouTube and sending the the link to you. As we work together we will be having target numbers of children to reach each year and target number of countries to reach. These numbers represent children and help give us a goal to believe God for. I pray that you will always remember the people behind the numbers as you pray.
Our goals will be audacious. But God is the one expected to help meet them. So please take the pressure off yourself and do the best you can do and watch God do the rest. I pray that such bold goals to believe God will motivate us to pray. It helps me always when I remember my own life. It took very little help to transform my future as many of you well know. The orphans suffering are there whether we believe God for them or not. They are in pain whether we try to do something or not. We have two options, believe God for very little and do little or believe God to reach more. I’m sure if any of us were to find ourselves in the position of these kids, we would love to have someone believing God and hoping to help, even if they never works out. Pastor Rick Warren says for God to use a person mightily, he has to expect God to do so. In my own experience, that is very true. God responds to faith. And believing God to use us to help someone else is faith that is worth striving for.
We just met our Cameroon goal for this September (i.e. 500 new kids.) Our goal for next September is 1,000 additional kids. My expectation from our loving partners is that they pray more and do their best just like they’ve done in the past and allow God the opportunity to do some miracles for us to use to give him praise together. It is a useless endeavor to expect God to do only what we can already do!
Thank you for standing with Shaping Destiny. Shaping Destiny will not exist without you. Shaping Destiny will not exist without the orphans we serve.
