CHILDREN HAVE MOVED IN!
For the past three days, the children have enjoyed their new home. They certainly have never lived in a building that beautiful. The manager has told me that the rooms are very spacious. They also have closets to store their belongings. Words cannot express the joy they have for it.
Both the process and the end have been important.
One thing that I’m especially thankful for is that the process of building this home has not only involved you the donors and sponsors but it greatly involved the kids. The night we had the fundraiser in Waco to complete the building, the kids stayed up late into the night, 3:00am and 4:00am praying for God to provide the funds. This is something the kids wanted to do. Prior to that, they fasted and prayed every Wednesday for God to provide the funds. Now, to see God provide the answer to their prayer builds their faith greatly. They have gotten to see God answer their prayers. And this is not the first time, there are many other times that this has happened in the past. In fact, every need they have becomes a prayer topic during their morning and evening devotions. They have seen answers to all kinds of prayers. When they grow up and leave, I believe that they will go with a knowledge that they can pray and expect God to answer even if it takes two years to get it–as this building has taken! Every time a prayer is answered, the manager reminds them of the prayers they’ve been making and the answer that had come in.
I think that kind of experience is priceless.
To the Donors and Sponsors
God has used you as his implements to provide for them. Without you, this ministry would not be possible. For me personally, I’ve come to believe that God founded Shaping Destiny for me as much as he did for the kids. And I’ve heard many of you echo this sentiment as well. We are just equally as blessed as the kids to be part of God’s purpose for his kingdom as they are in receiving. Some of you gave sacrificially to feed and support the children while others gave to build the building. Others were only able to pray. All of these sacrifices are equally important and all of us have been used to bring this about. There is still some work to be done such as digging a well for the kids and a few other things for which you and I can join the kids to pray for God to meet those needs as well. While we do that, we can all thank God for the privilege of having been a part of this work. Thank you!
